On-device (browser) tools

Most everyday tools run entirely in your browser. Your file is not uploaded for these operations — processing happens on your device and you download the result locally:

• Organize and edit: Merge, Split, Organize, Extract/Delete Pages, Edit PDF, Sign PDF, Protect PDF, Unlock PDF, Watermark, Page Numbers, Crop PDF, Batch Processing
• Create and convert locally: Create PDF, Create Word, Images to PDF, Scan to PDF, PDF to JPG, PDF to PNG, PDF to Text, Image to Text
• Compare: Compare PDF, Compare Text, Compare JSON
• Privacy and OCR on-device: Redact PDF, OCR PDF (searchable PDF / Word / text), plus OCR helpers inside Edit PDF, Scan to PDF, and Image to Text (browser / WASM path)
• Workflows: multi-step recipes that chain the same on-device or server tools listed here

Server-processed tools

These tools send your file to our conversion systems for that request, then return the result. Temporary copies are removed after processing completes, fails, or times out. We do not send your files to third-party conversion services:

• PDF to Word, Word to PDF
• PDF to Excel, Excel to PDF
• PDF to PowerPoint, PowerPoint to PDF
• Compress PDF (primary path)
• Repair PDF (primary path)

For Compress PDF, Repair PDF, and several Office conversions, a browser fallback may run on your device if the converter is unavailable. Excel to PDF and PowerPoint to PDF require server processing.

Optional AI assistant (OyoPdf Agent)

When AI chat is enabled, your messages and attachment metadata (such as file name, type, size, and page count) may be sent to our AI provider to plan workflows. Document bytes are not uploaded to the AI provider for analysis. If the assistant runs a server-processed tool, that tool follows the same upload and deletion rules above.

Account sign-in (optional)

If sign-in is enabled, you may use OAuth or a one-time email code. We store your email address and sign-in events (provider and timestamp) to operate your session. We do not receive your OAuth provider password.

Contact form

When you submit the contact form, we store your name, email, and message so our team can reply. PDF files are not uploaded through this form.

Usage analytics

We record anonymous page visits: URL path, referrer, browser user-agent, client IP address (for traffic analysis in the admin dashboard), a hashed copy of the IP, a random per-browser device identifier, device/browser labels, and basic client metadata (timezone, language, screen size, platform). This helps us understand which tools are used. We do not attach visit records to uploaded PDF content.

Local browser storage

The app may store theme preference, a device analytics id, session markers, and recent export history in your browser's local storage. Dashboard exports are stored only on your device unless you choose to upload elsewhere.

• We do not sell your personal data.
• We do not retain PDF, Word, Excel, or PowerPoint files after conversion completes.
• We do not use your document contents for advertising or model training.

We use essential cookies for authentication sessions and admin access when those features are enabled. Analytics use browser local storage and a session-scoped visit marker, not third-party advertising cookies.

If you deploy OyoPdf yourself, you control the server, database, and retention policies. This policy describes the default behavior of the software; your organization may publish its own policy for that deployment.

• Conversion temp files: deleted immediately after processing.
• Contact messages: kept until handled or deleted by an administrator.
• Visit analytics: stored securely in our systems.
• Auth events: stored while sign-in is enabled.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold (such as contact messages or account email). Email info@onequbitssoftware.com with your request. We will respond within a reasonable time.

OyoPdf is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this policy. The effective date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
